Student's Housing, Food, & Living Allowances

Previous

This is question 45g on the FAFSA.

The response indicates the total cash value of housing, food, and any other living allowances that the student (and his/her spouse) received in 2016. Benefits of this type are often paid to members of the military, clergy, and others. If the student (and his/her spouse) received free room and board in 2016 for a job that was not awarded as student financial aid, its value must be included in this figure.

Rent subsidies for low-income housing, the value of on-base military housing or the value of a basic military allowance for housing should not be included.
