Federal School Code

Previous

A Federal School Code is always six characters, beginning with 0 (zero), G, B, or E and ending with a five-digit number. For example, 003223 is the Federal School Code for the University of Oregon.

Your school’s Federal School Code will pre-fill the first Federal School Code field when you enter an initial FAFSA using FAA Access to CPS Online. You may search for additional Federal School Codes (if the student wants to apply to other schools) by using the Federal School Code Search.

Your school’s code will pre-fill the Federal School Code field when you correct a FAFSA using FAA Access to CPS Online if your school code is not listed on the record. However, you may not add any additional school codes in Correction Entry.
