Federal School Code

Previous

A Federal School Code is always six characters, beginning with 0 (zero), G, B, or E and ending with a five-digit number. For example, 003223 is the code for the University of Oregon.

A student can list up to four Federal School Codes when completing a paper FAFSA. However, when applying electronically, up to ten school codes may be listed.

Your school’s code will pre-fill the first Federal School Code field when you enter an initial FAFSA using FAA Access to CPS Online. You may search for additional school codes (if the student wants to apply to other schools) by using the Federal School Code Search.

Your school’s code will pre-fill the Federal School Code field when you correct a FAFSA using FAA Access to CPS Online if your school code is not listed on the record. However, you may not add any additional school codes in Correction Entry.
